My Reasoning

The pictures that this packet includes are of a very important person in my life. His name is Frank Carlton Serafino Frerrana, most commonly known as Nikki Sixx. He was the bass player for Motley Crue at the start of his music career. He became a heroin addict shortly after becoming famous. Heroin almost claimed his life, as it did mine. He found the ability and strength to quit, just as I did. After he got clean he wrote a book called The Heroin Diaries. He formed the band Sixx A.M.  His story has been the inspiration that I need to stay clean. His music lets me know that I am not alone, and that I was not the only person suffering and going through the pain of addiction. He has been in the same situation I have and knows everything that I went through. If you are interested in learning about this, or even if you just want a good book to read, The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx is a good choice. Not a reader? Sixx A.M. also has an album called the Heroin Diaries, check out the CD!

The Christmas Tree...there is a reason. In Nikki Sixx's book he explains his Christmas alone. Strung out, afraid, and sick. I had many Christmases like that. I never sat "naked under a Christmas Tree with a needle in my arm like an insane person in a mansion in Van Nuys," but I spent many Christmases away from my family and all of the happiness, locked in my room with a needle in my arm. My only Christmas present, a balloon of Persian from my "friend." As if to say "Marry Christmas, now die!" Oh what a Marry Christmas I had...

The reason I am leaving you with this and telling you my story is so that you can share it with others in the future. Share this with everyone you come to know. Maybe kids will understand and learn more from the words of someone that has been there and knows first hand what she is talking about. Someone that knows what will happen, and someone that has found the strength to make a better life for herself. Maybe then if they ever find themselves in a similar situation, they can remember my words, and remember that I, an ordinary, average small town girl, found the strength to get clean, they can too. So please, show this to people. Everyone. Share this with teachers so that they can show their students. I regret my choice to enter that life, the best choice I ever made was getting clean. I wouldn't wish that life on anyone. Everyone deserves the best life they can possibly have. Drug free, clean, and happy.
